My Native City

April 16, 2009

I was born and grew up in Leningrad, which in 1991 got its original name St. Petersburg. The city was founded by Peter the Great in 1703 as a challenge to traditional Russian customs. Everything there – its name, plan, architecture, even geography – is not typical and violates traditional views and customs.

Here areĀ  some links to the sites about the city, its biggest museum Hermitage and the National Library of Russia.
